Autism Unlimited is a charitable organisation, and as such, we must ensure that our services remain financially sustainable.
Following a thorough review, we have sadly concluded that sustaining the Penny Farthing residential service is not viable. The most responsible course of action for both the people we support and the charity is to close Penny Farthing, with a target date of May 30th, 2025.
We are currently consulting with colleagues at Penny Farthing and are committed to being as transparent as possible about this difficult decision. Our priority is to support residents through this transition and ensure they move on to a positive next chapter in their care and support. We will do everything we can to facilitate this.
We are working closely with local authority partners to find placements that best suit each resident’s individual needs.
We understand that this news may be unsettling, and we remain committed to supporting our residents, their families, and our colleagues throughout this process.
