Statement on Barn Close
Autism Unlimited is a charitable organisation, and as such, we are required to ensure that our services remain financially sustainable.
After a thorough review, we have sadly concluded that it is not possible to achieve sustainability for the Barn Close service. The best option for the people we support and the charity is to close Barn Close. Our target date is December 31st 2024.
We are now in a consultation with Barn Close colleagues. Our commitment to transparency is to share at this stage as much information as we can about this difficult decision. Our intention is to ensure that the next steps for our residents at Barn Close that they have the best transition to a positive next chapter in their care and support, and every effort will be made by us to achieve that.
We are working closely with local authority partners to ensure that each of our residents is placed in a setting that best meets their individual needs.
We understand that this news is unsettling; we are committed to supporting our residents, their families, and our colleagues throughout this process.
